Heybridge Creek feeds the outflow from the Chelmer & Blackwater Navigation into the River Chelmer. Where it has been cut off by the seawall a large reedbed has developed. In spring and summer this is home to large numbers of breeding reed warbler and sedge warbler and is used for food and shelter by many other birds.
Visiting
Accessible via a public footpath off The Causeway near the Benbridge Hotel roundabout, or via Hall Road.
Free park-and-ride bus to Tesco store. Buses from Maldon to Witham, Tiptree and Tollesbury run along The Causeway.
Accessible at all times.
